Easy Decorating Tips for Kids’ Playing Space

Tracey ClaytonBy Tracey ClaytonFebruary 12, 2016No Comments4 Mins Read

Your kids will spend a significant part of their lives in their own room, and you should have that in mind when making plans on the perfect decoration.

You really have to make sure that they will have fun playing in it, but they should also have their own corner for relaxing and expressing creativity.

Here are some great ideas for kids’ room decoration that will make it much easier for you.

    Appropriate Wall Colours

Colours that are appealing to kids’ personal taste will make the whole room come to life, plus the fact that they will be ecstatic about it. Feel free to think out of the box – blue for boys and pink for girls are no longer obligatory. Such a traditional approach to decorating is pretty much outdated.

Calming wall colours such as pale green and lavender will largely contribute to the cosy atmosphere in the room. Besides that, Disney characters are inevitable in kids’ room, since there is no child in the world who doesn’t love Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Goofy or Donald Duck. Wall stickers will definitely do the trick – they are very affordable and practical, as well as easy to remove when children grow up.

    Perfect Beds

Beds are extremely important in order for kids to be healthy and to have good posture, so it is always a good idea to invest in high-quality mattresses. Having in mind that a lot of families have a problem with available space, bunk beds may be just the perfect option. Kids will surely adore them, and they will utilise small space to the maximum.

There are so many possibilities when it comes to their design and colour, but they will definitely add a touch of adventure to every room.

    Storage Is a Must

Too many toys can take up a lot of space, so they should be stored in order to avoid unnecessary mess.  Drawers, cardboard or plastic boxes, and different kinds of shelves will provide enough storage space.

These are highly beneficial in so many ways, starting with the fact that children will learn to tidy up by themselves after playtime. Such boxes are actually inexpensive but extremely convenient for kids’ room. These are very simple, so even the youngest kids can use them.

    Creative Corner

Children adore drawing and colouring things, and they sometimes get so excited about it that their masterpieces end up on the walls – literally. In order to avoid such situations, it is a good idea to provide one corner of the room exclusively for kids’ creative work. Use chalkboard paint on one wall and make them a unique space where they will able to express their imagination.

Take one piece of string wire and place it from one wall to another. That is one of the most creative and inexpensive ways to hang children’s artworks where everyone can see them.

    Toy Collection on The Shelf

Kids love collecting toys, and displaying those for everyone to see will mean a world to them. Help them create their own collection that indeed look stunning on every shelf. Older kids will love unique Hot Toysthat represent characters from Star Wars, Iron Man, Superman and many other famous heroes. This can be a sort of a family tradition, too, since parents can let children expand their collection, which will be passed on in the next generation.

Now that you have read all the tips, you can be sure that decorating your kids’ room doesn’t have to be such a stressful task that requires a lot of money. Just have in mind their own wishes and personal interests, because that is the only way to make them satisfied. Decorate with love and your kids will definitely recognize and appreciate your effort.
