Spoiled For Choice in West Sussex

Kabir RajaBy Kabir RajaOctober 24, 2011No Comments2 Mins Read

West Sussex is a beautiful, varied county that boasts rolling green hills, buzzing city life, historical villages and easy commutes to London, among hundreds of other attributes.

Situated on the South Coast between East Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and Surrey, West Sussex encompasses many famous seaside spots like Bognor Regis, which has been recognized as the sunniest spot in the UK.

Then there is the historical city of Chichester, with its impressive cathedral; Arundel with its Norman castle and Petworth with its stately home.

Those looking for new homes in West Sussex are spoiled for choice.

For a vibrant social scene intermingled with quaint historical touches, plus great fish and chips on the sea front, then Brighton can’t be beaten. The Palace Pier, Pavilion and The Lanes draw many people to the city. But it’s not all about wild nightlife and shopping, as many big organisations have head offices in Brighton, making it a business hub also.

Those who are looking for a decent place to bring up the family while being within easy reach of major transport links should look at Haywards Heath, where train journeys to London take less than an hour. With many good schools and a continually-changing restaurant area, the Heath, as the locals call it, offers much more than just a bed for the night.

Quiet and pretty village life can be discovered in lovely Ditchling, nestled in the foot of the South Downs. It boasts the famous Ditchling Beacon. It has, for over 100 years, attracted many artists and craftspeople, with is evident through the village’s unique craft workshops and galleries.

Those seeking a mixture of past and present country life might enjoy the market town of Midhurst, which is famous for hosting major polo events. On approach, you’ll see the stunning Cowdray Ruins, once a Tudor mansion. The main street features all the usual amenities a family could desire.

These are just a few of the great locations in West Sussex. Why not jump in the car and go explore? One is bound to be perfect for your new home.
